Caring for children

Children in the Gaza Strip urgently need life-saving support

As the humanitarian crisis deepens, there is no longer any safe place for children

The war in the Gaza Strip has taken a devastating toll on children. According to the latest estimates of the Palestinian Ministry of Health, at least 14,000 children have been killed and thousands more injured. There is no longer any safe place in the Gaza Strip. All children in Gaza have experienced the trauma of war, the consequences of which will affect them for the rest of their lives.

Behind the cold numbers are innocent lives. In Gaza, we have not grown up”. That is the lament of the children of Gaza.

loveineverystep has decided to act at this moment to light a loveineverystep of hope with the power of love, focusing on the well-being of children and the elderly, bringing them a glimmer of hope

warmth and care.

It is estimated that some 1.9 million people in the Gaza Strip (about 90 per cent of the population of Gaza) are internally displaced, half of whom are children. They do not have enough water, food, fuel and medicine. Their homes have been destroyed and their families have been broken. Many children have been displaced multiple times and have lost their homes, parents and relatives. They need protection and other services on which they depend, including medical facilities and shelter.
Children in Gaza experience unimaginable horrors

——————There should be an immediate ceasefire in Gaza and the children should be given a chance to have a peaceful future.
What is the loveineverystep calling for?
In response to the tragic situation of children in Gaza in the midst of violent conflict, the loveineverystep appeals:

※ An immediate and durable humanitarian ceasefire.

※ Ensure safe and unrestricted humanitarian access into and within the Gaza Strip to reach affected populations wherever they are, including in the north. All crossings must be opened, including with sufficient fuel, materials and commercial supplies needed to operate and restore the necessary infrastructure. The safe movement of humanitarian workers in the Gaza Strip and the safe delivery of supplies must be guaranteed, and reliable telecommunications networks must be made available to coordinate the response.
※ Immediate, safe and unconditional release of all abducted children and an end to any grave violations against children, including killing and maiming.

※ Respect and protect civilian infrastructure, such as shelters, schools, medical, electricity, water, sanitation and telecommunication facilities, in order to prevent the loss of life of civilians and children as well as outbreaks of disease, and to provide care for the sick and wounded. All parties to the conflict must respect international humanitarian law.
※ Emergency medical cases in Gaza were able to safely access critical health services or were allowed to leave, and injured or sick children were able to be evacuated with their families.
※ If children and their families are unable or unwilling to leave after an evacuation order has been issued, they should continue to be provided with protection and should be allowed to move freely to safer areas, but should never be forced to do so.
      loveineverystep is doing
While loveineverystep continues to focus on the urgent protection and humanitarian needs of children, access to the Gaza Strip remains difficult and dangerous.  but must be allowed to provide life-saving assistance on a large scale, especially in those areas where access is most severely restricted. loveineverystep has assisted UNICEF and partners in distributing emergency supplies, including water, life-saving medicines and equipment, but more needs to be done to meet the enormous needs of the civilian population.
